2015-16 Cirque Auditions

Auditions will take place in the auditorium at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1st .  Registration will begin at 3:45 PM,  also in the auditorium.  For rising 9th grade students coming from the middle schools, please register when you arrive; we realize your schools dismiss well after the high school.

Wear clothing that you can easily move in, but attire should not be baggy.  Athletic shoes will be needed.  Long hair needs to be put up, and no jewelry please.  Water bottles that can be sealed are perfectly fine and encouraged.

No prior gymnastics or circus arts training is required.  Just bring a willing spirit.

We will have a brief instructional meeting with everyone before warming up and conditioning.  Following this, we will break out into smaller exploratory groups.  These small groups will rotate through the various apparatus and skills centers.  These centers will include ground acts, aerial skills, movement/dance, and team collaboration.

Auditions typically run until 7:00 – 7:30 PM.  Please plan to be at this audition the entire time.

Cirque is a year-long class that produces an original production in late spring (2016).  You must be able to include the class in your schedule to participate.  Students involved in winter and spring sports and/or other activities will find it difficult to also be involved in Cirque because of our after school rehearsals that begin early in the 2nd semester.
